The 2009 Cystic Fibrosis Great Escape raises $400,000!
Thank you to all our entrants for making the 2009 Great Escape such an enjoyable 10 days and my congratulations and thanks on your triumph in raising $400,000 for Cystic Fibrosis. What a great effort.
It was wonderful to meet our new 2009 entrants who are now well and truly part of the Great Escape family. I hope to welcome you all back in 2010, along with our long term entrants and those friends who couldn’t make the 2009 rally.
The Great Escape takes a huge amount of behind the scenes organisation and I wish to thank Road Boss Jamie Lawson and his team of officials for their efforts again this year. Well done all - another great rally.
This year we made our way through some remote parts of Australia and as always we were warmly welcomed everywhere we went. My thanks go out to all these communities for their great hospitality.
In particular I would like to extend a very big “thank you” to LJ Hooker Wagga Wagga and LJ Hooker Port Macquarie for their involvement in our rally start and rally finish activities respectively. Thank you so much for your support. We also received enormous help from Port Macquarie - Hastings Shire Council for which we are very thankful.
Again my congratulations to all for such a great effort and I hope to see everyone back in 2010.
Terry Stewart - CEO of Cystic Fibrosis Australia
