We had a fantastic send off from Leeton
with Mayor Maytom flagging off the
rally
cars. Car 65, Jewel of the North, driven
by Teresa Carlson took the honour of
pole position being the highest fundraiser
for this year’s event. Car 351,
Cat Astrophe took 2nd place honours
and positioned third and fourth respectively
were Car 3377 Bob the Builders and
Car 8 the VB Boys.
After being farewelled the cars headed
out for some serious rallying and day
one
was a great success.
The standout highlight of the longest
day of the rally was morning tea organised
by Jason Sharam, Ian Paine and the
ladies from the Coleambally Golf Club.
There was an abundance of delicacies,
and everyone left feeling completely
refreshed and ready to drive on to
Moulamein for lunch and a very warm
welcome
from all the students at Moulamein
Central School.
After a brief stop to eat lunch at
Moulamein Bowling Club the rally continued
on
through the sand and scrub of Kattah
Kulkyne National Park. There were a
couple of “hold-ups” before
another great night at Wentworth!
