After leaving behind our wonderful
Mystery Station on the river, we travelled
past the grape vines of Minindee and
into Mildura, where the rally street
parade was welcomed by a brilliant
show of support from local people.
The cars drove through the town creating
plenty of noise, smoke and excitement,
and stopping at local primary schools
along the way before arriving at the
finish line at Loch 11, overlooking
the Darling River.
We were greeted by friends and family,
representatives from sponsor LJ Hooker,
and Cystic Fibrosis Australia Youth
Ambassador, Emmah Money. Emmah was
also the guest speaker at the presentation
dinner held in the evening, sharing
the amazing story of her life with
cystic fibrosis with rally participant
and other guests. Winners of trophies
and other rally achievements were also
announced at the presentation dinner,
which also gave the opportunity for
an auction and the recognition o all
those who contributed to making the
2006 Great Escape such a huge success.
