It is hard to believe that it's already the
end of Day 4! Once again nature has been extremely
generous and blessed us with a wonderful day.
Today saw the route wind from Albury to Bright,
through Chiltern-Mt. Pilot National Park then
followed by the mountainous roads lining the
Miita Mata River.
Travelling through this rugged terrain involved
tackling challenging level 6 wacko roads.
The wackos are based on a 7-point scale, with
7 being the hardest, and 1 being the easiest.
Needless to say, there were portions where
the travel was slow and cautious. The reward
through were stunning views of the valley
below and a breathtaking panoramic of Mt.
Bogong, Victoria's tallest peak at 1986 m.
Congratulations to all vehicles for making
it to the finish on their own power with no
breakdowns!
The theme for tonight was Rock N Roll. Thanks
to all who dressed up! Special acknowledgement
must go to Terry Stewart for bringing a ukulele,
Roz Thompson for a fantastic bright pink getup,
and no-hair Frank for proudly donning a wig
and joining the festivities.
After dinner 'Kenny' was kind enough to draw
caricature cartoons as 'temporary tattoos'
for people, in return for a donation to CF.
Great Escape entrants really know how to fundraise
in interesting ways! Many people welcomed
their new look with enthusiasm, including
Owie who had a skull-and-crossbones drawn
on to give him the 'tough' look. The night
concluded with a fantastic combination of
friends, live music, dancing and fond memories.
Tune in tomorrow as we head from Bright to
Ballarat!
