There is good news and bad news!
Firstly - the good news is that the Great
Escape had another excellent day! I'm writing
to you from Ballarat just as the western shindig
in the Great Southern Woolshed has shut down
and happy to inform today has been another
great success!
The bad news - our adventure is already half
way over!
Starting in Bright this morning the rally
winded through country and park roads seeing
again some wonderful parts of the country
and having the opportunity to really dirty
the cars as we negotiated a muddy stretch
of dirt. A major highlight of the day was
stopping for lunch at Whroo. This little known
area is now a ghost town that was abandoned
after the mine was closed. It is now a heritage
sight and visitors like us can drop in to
see the old tunnels cut into the rock. You
can even walk through an old rail road tunnel.
This evening was taken up by a darn tootin'
fun time at the western shindig. Yee haw!!!
A large contingent of the local CF community
was on hand to join in the night's festivities,
as was the Mayor of Ballarat, who gave an
impressive talk.

And the mud flys! |
