DAY 6 : Ballarat to Camperdown

It's been another wonderful fun filled day! Day 6 saw the rally leave from Ballarat and weave its way to Camperdown. This morning, the Great Escape was greeted with dark storm clouds, heavy winds and the definite threat of rain. This thankfully cleared up in time for visiting Bob's Pub in the scrub! This was an enjoyable stop on the way into lunch, complete with entertainment, buggy rides, games and lots to talk about (definitely check out the pictures on this one!).

After this pit stop, the route skirted the Pyrenees for a stop in Ararat for lunch. To everybody's surprise and delight, the real celebrity Kenny's father was in attendance! Special thanks to the Kenny's on our tour for organizing Bob's Pub, as well as the event in Ararat. Community support and involvement was wonderful with many curious bystanders dropping by to learn more about the cars, the Great Escape and Cystic Fibrosis. Shire Hall Hotel, who have been supporting the Kenny's all year, also got into the act and had their bartender dressed up like a Kenny! Poor Nic from car 6 had a practical joke played on him when the Kenny's decided to persuade the local tow driver to take away his car!

We're currently in Camperdown, a wonderful place which the community has really gotten behind the Great Escape. At dinner the Mayor came and said some words and it was fantastic to see local families support their participants as many of the cars on tour are based in Camperdown.

Local car "000 Tribute" donated a shirt signed by all for auction which netted $300. Congratulations to the team from Car 554, L.J Hooker and Wollongong City Raceway who won this unique item
