Today was our mid rally relax day which
gives everyone just a little time to recharge
the batteries, so no wacko sections were organised,
no schedules set and the day both started
and ended in Camperdown. Although today held
no hard driving this was one of the most spectacular
days on the Great Escape thus far.
People were free to spend their time anyway
they saw fit. Some decided to relax and catch
up on sleep, while others fixed their vehicles
and some even chose to clean their cars (that's
what I call wacko!). The cars that did venture
out were treated with a magical view, as a
large portion of today's travels included
the Great Ocean Road. What amazing sights!
Highlights included eating lunch at Otway
Fly, a multimillion dollar tourist attraction
built in the tree tops of old growth forest
and visiting the 12 Apostles.
Sadly today was definitely not the best weather
wise. Cloudy, rainy and windy sums it up with
everyone donning jackets, beanies, gloves
and scarves just to catch a glimpse of the
12 Apostles. During picture taking, holding
the camera steady was a difficult task, and
most people looked like balloons as the incredible
wind continued to puff up their jackets! Car
31, The Creon Crusaders learned best about
poor weather when their windshield wipers
failed, and Todd was forced to manually work
the wipers the entire way home, with his hand
out the window through the wind, rain and
even hail.
The weather may be heading south but the
pranks continue to fly, with Car 2206 waking
up to find their car completely sealed out
from them by the White Wine Wenches. Friendships
and memories continue to flourish in this
environment, and awareness continues to grow
along with the Great Escape.
