After a wonderful night under the gum trees at Durham Downs, we enjoyed a hot breakfast alongside the river before heading off to Thargomindah.
After a short day of driving, 300km, we arrived in Thargomindah to find kangaroos and emus gliding through the small town. Getting in early meant we had some time to relax and enjoy a mid afternoon break before getting down to the business of auctions and awards in the evening.
A few of the ladies chose to recline on the grass and enjoy the sun with a cocktail or two, and cheese and biscuits. Over the road, The Kenny’s hosted a heated pool competition – raising over $350 for Cystic Fibrosis. Congratulations to Mark “boof” Torrington who took out the winning title against Mark “nudes” Dyer!
Bronze, Silver and Gold were awarded to all fundraisers this evening. The top fundraiser of the year was The Jewel of the North, veterans Teresa Carlson and Sharyn Shaw raised an astonishing $112,464! Right on their tale was The Juggernaut team of Kieran, Gary, Matt, Peter, Adrian and Anthony raising $37,494.
Tomorrow we kick up some dust on the way to Narooma, where there are a few surprises in store and an Arabian Night awaiting us.
