Daily Update – Day 6 – Thargomindah to Noorama

The day's program here as PDF file

It was an early start today which saw us on a great mix of roads and station tracks. Today’s wacko section dished up some sandy roads and as we made our way along the Paroo River, on the way to Ningaling, Road Boss had us negotiate a river crossing, which always causes a bit of fun on the rally.

Our lunch stop today was at Ningaling Woolshed where we had a chance to have a look around prior to hitting the road again. This leg saw us dropping into NSW before coming back into Queensland at Barringun.

Tonight’s base is Noorama where we were made to feel very welcome by the local community.

In line with tonight’s theme night of “Arabian Nights” we got the chance to get up close and personal with the great animals of the desert – the camel – with local camel owner bring along his seven camels – with rides available for all.

This was just the start of the fun with our “Arabian Nights” theme with many dressing the part. Of particular note was the wonderful harem tent set up by Teresa, Sharyn and Roz – suitably decked out in theme. Fundraising is never far from these girls minds and for donations of $10 and $20 massages were up for grabs.

A great night was had by all with Road Boss even throwing in some games to keep the laughs going.
